Our Services

  • Behavioral Support

Elevated Support Services provides unlicensed Behavioral Support services to adults with intellectual disabilities and dual diagnoses. These services include: initial and ongoing functional behavioral assessment; development of a Behavior Support Plan; development of a crisis intervention plan and/or restrictive procedures if necessary; maintenance of the Behavior Support Plan and monitoring of the person’s progress on outcomes; direct behavior support to provide skills and education to the person; and training for their support team and their family. Behavioral Support services do not include the provision of therapy or counseling.

  • Therapy Services

Quality individual counseling for adults with disabilities is hard to come by. Many therapists, although well-versed in a variety of counseling skills and techniques, simply do not have the expertise in relating those skills and techniques to adults with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, Autism, and co-occurring mental health diagnoses (often referred to as dual diagnosis). With 17 years of experience in working directly with this population, we are excited to provide quality individual counseling to the ID/A community in Central Pennsylvania.

  • Promoting Healthy Sexuality

We provide a variety of services and supports to help families, providers, and organizations navigate conversations about sexuality and relationships with confidence and compassion. Our approach emphasizes dignity, autonomy, and safety — ensuring that every person has the knowledge and tools they need to make informed choices about relationships, consent, and personal boundaries. We offer behavioral support, sexual consent and risk assessments, and training for supporters, families, and individuals designed to create environments where healthy sexuality and healthy relationships can grow.

  • Training & Education

It is our goal to build capacity at all levels to paid and natural supporters of adults in the ID/A community. We believe that quality training programs are key in supporting adults with disabilities to remain healthy and safe, have fulfilling relationships, and live and work in their community. We offer a library of training programs, as well as in-person training sessions to service providers in Central Pennsylvania. Training topics include: functional behavioral assessment, positive behavior support, the direct supporter’s role in behavior support, de-escalation, supporting healthy relationships and sexuality, preventing and responding to crisis situations, and abuse prevention.

“Life is painful. Life is funny. Sometimes it’s both at the same time. I think that people in human services are attracted by what is authentically human. Data, graphs, numbers are important but they don’t connect with the stuff of life.”
